We offer on-line refresher/certification training for the busy professional. This is an interactive, live on-line program that will meet the requirements for National Registry of EMTs new NCCP Model as well as state certifications.
Classes are held in day or evening sessions. Since these courses are accommodating personnel both here in the United States as well as our contractors overseas, the sessions here in the U.S. may be flexed differently than our OCONUS friends. Please contact us for specific dates/times.
The following are the new National Registry's refresher requirements:
The new refresher formating will be offered in varied hour sessions. The cost will be based on contact hours. You can mix and match hours for just the hours you need or take the whole series over time. We offer discounts for groups as well as for our friends overseas or in the military.
For our NREMT friends, we will offer the 30 hours of which will be very specific topics to meet the National Registry's NCCP training model. For the additional non-mandatory 30 hours, you may pick the topics of your choice from our other offerings. For example, we will be offering a K-9 Emergency course that will not meet the NCCP section for NREMT, but will apply towards the requirement for the Local or Individual NREMT training models. If you have any questions regarding the new recert requirements for NREMT, Please click here for further explainations.
** for Georgia EMS Personnel**
We are now under the NREMT's model for NCCP in Georgia if you are currently certified under the NREMT.
If you are a Georgia licensed EMS professional, you are still under the 40 hour CEU requirement. 16 hours are topics in Pediatric, Trauma and Cardiac emergencies. Here is the breakdown of how many hours in each topic:
Cardiac- 4 hours
Pediatric- 8 hours
Trauma- 4 hours
The other 24 hours can be in topics of your choice, but must have GA approval before the course so that you can use any CEUs obtained.
If you are NREMT certified and meet your requirements for recertification for this organization, then you will automatically meet the GA requirements. All GA medics should now be aligned with their NREMT expiration dates so that both are due in the same year.
If you need more info, need to print your provider card or determine if you are currently holding a state license in Georgia, please go to the OEMS website here: Georgia EMS website
ALL CEUs must now be logged under the new GEMSIS system. You will not be able to renew your license unless all your hours have been completed under the new system. If you need assistance logging your hours, we can assist with that for a small fee of $25. If you are not familiar follow this link to the new website for more information: GEMSIS
You will need a system capable of connecting to the internet and verbally interacting with others during the sessions. You may use your tablet, or smart phone, but the best results are a computer with headphones/microphones available for communicating and interacting during class time.
This is a formal classroom setting with active participation from all providers. Whatever your level of practice, the course is geared for all individuals- EMT through Paramedic.
Besides the required recertification topics, we cover other innovative and new concepts in EMS. We'll review 12-Lead interpretation, ETCO2 utilization, ECMO in the field, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) use, Tactical medicine, K-9 emergency care, the latest in bleeding control and discussion of the FAST ultrasound imaging in the field. For our folks in the middle east, we will also apply principles of assessment and treatment modalities in the austere environment.
